Our proudly independent show was in production between 2018 and 2021. We made a small season each year for our audience of thoughtful dog lovers.

The podcast was warmly reviewed by the Financial Times (Podcast of the Week), on ABC Radio National’s Stop Everything!, on ABC Brisbane, ABC Canberra, in The Big Issue, Sunshine Coast Daily, Take 5 magazine, and the Pod Squad newsletter.

Episodes were featured in great company here: Lindsey Green’s ‘Hopepunk’ live listening party at Audiocraft (2019); Audiocraft’s Australian Summer Listening (2018), and Jess O’Callaghan’s Australian podcasts recommendation list (2019).

You can listen to Alongside Radio’s latest production, Nobody Dies Here, here.

“Oh My Dog is a delightful new series about dogs and their humans.
These stories of love, sadness and trauma have universal appeal.
What on the surface is just people talking about their pets is about human resilience and the lengths we go to in order to love and be loved.”

(Financial Times - Fiona Sturges)

“Finds the balance between happy, sad, nostalgic and touching! I loved every episode. Heart strings pulled, laughter had.”

“Deeper than a basic meditation on dogs as our best friends (assuming you, reading this, are human). Through a seamless blend of storytelling, interview and sound design, Oh My Dog explores tricky subjects that include homelessness, mental illness, language and violence.
Throughout these episodes, the series pinpoints the recurring thing that makes us feel so connected to animals: they remind us to find joy.”

Australian Audio Guide (2020)

The profiles of the guests are wildly diverse hearing how and why the dogs came into their lives (and sometimes exited - sniff!) was a great listen.”

Oh My Dog was produced in Meanjin/ Brisbane on the unceded land of the Jagera and Turrbal people. We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of these lands and waters; and elders, past and present.

Without justice for this country’s Aboriginal people there can be no peace. We recommend Frontier War Stories podcast as a good source of education about the ongoing struggle.
